Yazd University’s men’s taekwondo team delivered an outstanding performance at the Student Taekwondo Championships of Region 6 of Iran, winning one gold and three bronze medals and adding another achievement to the university’s growing record of success in student sports.

According to the Public Relations Office of Yazd University, citing the university’s Physical Education Department, the Region 6 Student Taekwondo Championships were held on July 27, 2026, hosted by the University of Kashan. Athletes from 11 universities competed in two disciplines: Kyorugi and Poomsae.

Yazd University participated in the competition with four athletes: three competed in Kyorugi, while one represented the university in Poomsae.

In the Kyorugi events, Amin Mohebbalhosseini delivered an impressive performance to win the gold medal in the third weight category. Mohammadamin Nabi, competing in the second weight category, and Mohammad Ghasemi, in the fifth weight category, each secured a bronze medal.

In the Poomsae event, Mohammad Hadi Bayat also put in a strong performance and won a bronze medal.

Yazd University’s representatives therefore concluded the Region 6 Student Taekwondo Championships with one gold and three bronze medals, highlighting the talent, determination, and sporting excellence of the university’s student athletes.
