Yazd University students delivered an impressive performance at the Student Chess Championships of Region 6 of Iran, winning one silver and one bronze medal in the Blitz Chess event.

According to the Public Relations Office of Yazd University, citing the university’s Physical Education Department, the Region 6 Student Chess Championships were held from August 3 to 6, 2026, hosted by the University of Isfahan. Yazd University participated in the competition with a team of four athletes.

In the Blitz Chess event, Ali Keshavarz put in a strong performance to win the silver medal. Mahyar Askari Pour also performed successfully, securing the bronze medal.

These achievements highlight the talent and sporting excellence of Yazd University’s student athletes and add two more medals to the university’s successful record in regional university competitions.
