Yazd University in Iran has announced scholarship opportunities for international students, including those recently suspended from universities in the United States and Europe for protesting against actions by the Israeli government.
Yazd University president, Dr. Abbas Kalantari made the announcement during a gathering to support student activists around the world. He stated that Yazd University has received permission from the Board of Trustees to grant scholarships to attract international students. The scholarships will be offered "to students from universities that have been suspended or expelled these days due to their protest against the actions of the Israeli government" towards Gaza as well as to international students already studying in Iran who are from Gaza.
An online application portal for these scholarships will be available soon on Yazd University's websites. It is worth mentioning that Yazd University has been admitting international students since 2016 and has so far attracted about 450 international students.
