Researchers at a Yazd University knowledge-based company have successfully developed and produced equipment for 4th and 5th generation cellular communication technologies.
This achievement marks a significant step towards reducing Iran's reliance on imported equipment for mobile phone data and information transmission.
Previously, such equipment was solely obtained from China and European countries. This 12-year research project by Yazd's elite researchers has resulted in domestically produced equipment that meets international standards, according to Dr. Ali Akbar Tadvin, a faculty member at Yazd University and CEO of the knowledge-based company.
Testing and Implementation
The domestically produced equipment has already been installed in select villages and sparsely populated urban areas for the past two years. It is currently undergoing final testing and approval processes. This successful production paves the way for Iran to achieve self-sufficiency in this critical area of telecommunication infrastructure.
