Yazd University has secured the third position among comprehensive universities in Iran with 20 to 40 years of history, in terms of productivity in publishing scientific articles on the international platforms ISC and WoS. This ranking was announced by the Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC).
Dr. Ali Mirvakili, the Director of the International
Scientific Cooperation Office (ISCO) at Yazd University, shared this news and
elaborated on the evaluation process. He explained that the report examined
scientific articles from Iranian universities published in journals with impact
factors. The analysis was based on data from the year 2020, which is the latest
available in the ranking database and was also used in the most recent ranking
of Iranian universities.
According to Dr. Mirvakili, the criteria used in the ISC
database included the total number of articles, per capita production of
scientific articles by faculty members and graduate students, the number of Q1
articles, and per capita Q1 articles by faculty members and graduate students.
In the WoS database, the criteria included the total number
of articles, impact factors, total articles in impact factor journals, average
impact factor, per capita production of scientific articles by faculty members,
per capita articles in impact factor journals by faculty members, per capita
articles by graduate students, Q1 articles, per capita Q1 articles by faculty
members and graduate students, international collaboration articles in WoS, and
per capita international collaboration articles in WoS by faculty members.
Dr. Mirvakili also highlighted that in terms of the total number of articles produced in the ISC database among comprehensive universities with 20 to 40 years of history, Allameh Tabataba’i University ranked first, followed by universities of Mohaghegh Ardabili, Yazd, Semnan, and Lorestan, respectively.
In the WoS database, Semnan University ranked first with 745
articles among comprehensive universities with 20 to 40 years of history,
followed by universities of Mohaghegh Ardabili, Yazd, Zanjan, and Kurdistan,
respectively.
