The Department of Biology at Yazd University recognizes the importance of Biological Sciences as a key field in addressing the challenges that threaten our lives in the near future. Due to their significance, the Biology Department at Yazd University has established two key undergraduate programs in Cell and Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, as well as a Master's program in Genetics. This department emphasizes new approaches in research and teaching, aiming to provide students with a scientific foundation for understanding the biological principles of living systems. Additionally, students are trained in laboratory skills to address research questions and quantitative skills for data collection and analysis. The department consists of 8 faculty members, 2 laboratory technicians, and over 200 undergraduate and graduate students. The faculty members are actively engaged in various research areas such as Genetics, Molecular Biology, Plant Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbial Biotechnology, and Animal Physiology.
