Laser Spectroscopy Research Laboratory (LSRL), is a newly founded laboratory at the Department of Physics at Yazd University. This laboratory is part of the Yazd Photonics Research Group (YPRG). Theoretical and experimental research topics in practical and interdisciplinary fields of spectroscopy are the research topics of this laboratory. At the moment, major research activities in this laboratory are preceded with the cooperation of faculty members, young researchers, and postgraduate students. Different research projects are conducted and supervised by the Laser Spectroscopy Research Laboratory (LSRL). The research topics are selected based on national and regional priorities. Currently, regarding the long term research plan of Yazd University, the team are involved in the following research themes:

• Characterizing and measurement of nonlinear optical properties of the new generation of nanostructures and other materials
• Design, fabrication, and utilization of laser sensing systems in precise studying of environmental pollution and aerosols with the help of modern laser spectroscopic techniques.
• Application of new laser-based spectroscopic techniques in biology and medical diagnoses.
• Theoretical and experimental investigation of ion traps for high-resolution molecular spectroscopy and quantum technologies
