The Department of Theology at Yazd University was established in 2000, offering Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) programs in Jurisprudence and Islamic Laws. In 2008, the department expanded its offerings to include Master of Arts (M.A.) programs in the same fields. To further enrich its academic portfolio, in 2010, the department introduced an M.A. program in Nahj al-Balāgha Studies, specializing in Social and Political Sciences and General Law.
A significant milestone was achieved in 2012 when the department launched its first Ph.D. program in Comparative Exegesis.
Today, the department continues to thrive, supported by a dedicated team of Faculty members, and a group of part-time instructures. This collective expertise enables the department to maintain its commitment to both education and research within the field of theology.
