Mehriz, one of the southern counties of Yazd province, is located along the strategic Tehran-Bandar Abbas road. The history of Mehriz and its surroundings dates back to pre-Islamic times and is attributed to Mehrnegar, the daughter of Anushirvan. This region, with its unique geographical features, natural settings including snow-capped peaks and a mild mountainous climate on the edge of the desert, boasts recreational and tourist attractions such as the Gharbalbiz Spring, the recreational area of Kooh Rig, and magnificent historical mud-brick structures, always welcoming domestic and international tourists.
The Mehriz Campus of Yazd University began its activities in 2015 in a building donated by the benevolent philanthropist from Mehriz, Mr. Jafar Shakib. Student admissions for the evening bachelor's degree programs commenced in 2016 in three majors: Psychology, Management, and Computer Engineering. In 2017, the majors of Accounting, Law, and English Language and Literature were added. Currently, students from all over the country are studying in these six majors. The Mehriz Campus provides dormitory facilities for both male and female students.

Campus Overview
- Establishment: The Mehriz Campus of Yazd University started its activities in 2015 in a building donated by philanthropist Mr. Jafar Shakib.
