Introduction to the Data Science Research Center

The Data Science Research Center at the University of Yazd commenced its activities during the 26th meeting of the university's board of trustees in 2019. The establishment of this research center aims to address the research and practical challenges faced nationwide and in the province in the fields related to data science, computer engineering, and information technology. The center focuses on topics such as data analysis, information management, organizational architecture, image processing, machine learning, network security, and other related subjects.

Major Objectives of the Data Science Research Center:

1. Attainment of cutting-edge theoretical and applied knowledge in the field of data science.

2. Enhancement of demand-driven quantitative and qualitative research projects.

3. Execution of applied research and research projects contributing to the scientific position of university professors and increasing the university's share in generating knowledge related to data science.

4. Guidance of theses and student research towards topics needed by the country's industry in the field of data science.

5. Creation of a dynamic, innovative, and leading environment in the field of data science with effective internal and international communications.

6. Commercialization of research results and the establishment of knowledge-based companies.
