The Department of Architecture equips students with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to address complex environmental and social challenges at both national and global scales. Our curriculum offers a comprehensive foundation in traditional and contemporary architectural theories, vernacular architecture, urbanism, sustainability, and historic preservation. Students apply this knowledge to develop design and product expertise.
Situated in the historic heart of Yazd, the department provides an immersive learning environment where students gain firsthand appreciation for the values of traditional architecture and the complexities of historic urban living. This unique location complements our academic programs.
The department is a leading center for research and training in the history and theory of traditional Iranian architecture. By emphasizing the preservation and revitalization of traditional building techniques and spatial qualities, we cultivate a new generation of specialized professionals.
We offer Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral degrees in Architecture, as well as Master's degrees in Energy and Architecture and Architectural Conservation and Restoration.
