The Department of Environmental Sciences in the School of Natural Resources and Desert Studies was established with a B.Sc. program in environmental sciences in 1995. The department was then developed over 25 years in terms of laboratories, facilities and equipment, number of students, faculty members and new programs. Furthermore, the department has been involved not only in teaching but also undertaking research projects with governmental and non-governmental centers throughout the country. We provide our students with the most up to date knowledge in environmental sciences and management. Our graduate students are eager to make a significant contribution towards teaching, carrying out research, as well as taking administrative roles in the country. Today, the department has faculty members in five defined areas of interdisciplinary specialization; environmental pollution, biodiversity, environmental evaluation, environmental planning, management and education, as well as forestry at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
